What are the opening hours?
Tuesday to Thursday: 8 am – 9:30 pm. Friday and Saturday: 8 am – 12:30 am. Sunday: 8 am – 9:30 pm. Monday: closed. Coffee from 8 am; wine is served all day, and from late afternoon the place turns into a wine bar with wines by the glass and tapas.
Until what time is the kitchen open?
Until 9 pm; Friday and Saturday, until 12 am.
Where is CATAS?
At Bonpland 2214, Palermo Hollywood, Buenos Aires, three blocks from Avenida Santa Fe. Come in, walk past the bar and the dining room, and the patio is at the back. The cellar is downstairs.
Do I need to book? How do I book?
You can book a table for coffee, lunch or wine, the private cellar, a tasting or an event on the Book page: choose what, when and how many, and the button opens WhatsApp with the message ready. Your booking is pending until we confirm it on WhatsApp. Only tastings require a booking, with a deposit: for coffee, lunch or wine you can just walk in.
Do you serve brunch?
Yes, Tuesday to Sunday, from 8 am: breakfast combos with coffee, avocado toast, egg bowl, açaí bowl and savory croissants, among others.
How much does it cost?
Breakfast combos, with coffee, from ARS 10,000; wine by the glass from ARS 8,000; and the guided wine tasting, ARS 60,000 per person. All prices are on the menu. We accept all payment methods.
Do you charge for water?
Still and sparkling water are complimentary. If you prefer, we also have bottled water.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes: the menu has a gluten-free option (ARS 7,500): alfacookie, alfajor negro, cuadrado de brownie and cuadrado de coco. If you have celiac disease, let us know when you order.
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, we are pet friendly: your pet is welcome too.
Is there a patio?
Yes. At the back there is a green patio with a canvas awning and a long bench among plants: coffee and merienda by day and, from late afternoon, wine and tapas in the open air. You can also book a table on the patio.
How much is a wine tasting, and for how many people?
A guided wine tasting is ARS 60,000 per person: it runs on dates set by CATAS, and you book a seat. Private tastings, blind or themed, are set up for your group in our underground cellar, for 8 to 10 people; for larger groups, up to 20 in the dining room or on the patio. Ask us for the price of a private tasting or a coffee tasting.
What does the tasting include?
You taste 4 or 5 labels, guided by a host, over about 2 hours. It includes food: a tasting menu in courses or a board with cured meats and bruschettas, and dessert. Tastings are for adults over 18.
Can I give a tasting as a gift?
Yes, we make vouchers or gift cards. Message us on WhatsApp.
Do you host tastings for companies or teams?
Yes: private tastings for teams. In the cellar downstairs, 8 to 10 people; in the dining room or on the patio, up to 20. For bigger events, the dining room and the patio together, up to 40: see the Events page.
Do you host events? For how many people?
Yes: birthdays, company events and launches. Approximate capacity: the cellar downstairs, 6 to 10 people; the patio, up to 20; the dining room and the patio together, 30 to 40. We confirm it for your format.
Can I just come for a glass of wine in the afternoon?
Yes. Wine is served at any time; from late afternoon the menu turns to wine, with wines by the glass, tapas and a cellar of 97 labels from small producers.
Do you sell bottles to take away?
Yes, the bottles on the menu are sold to take away, at the same menu price.
